This was such an amazing find – it's been wonderful staying here. It's a gorgeous cottage – really homely and handy for visiting lots of other places too.

We've had absolutely everything we could have needed for a fantastic break. Thank you for everything!

Out & About in Cornwall and Places to Visit in Cornwall

From beautiful towns and villages, magical gardens and historic houses... find out some places to visit during your holiday in Cornwall..

From our perfect central location, the whole of Cornwall is easily accessed. We are situated 20 minutes from both Heligan Gardens and The Eden Project, 10 minutes from the picturesque South Coast, with its many pretty harbours and inlets and only 20 minutes from the North Coast with its miles of sandy beaches and rugged coastline. A little further afield, Land's End to the West and Dartmoor to the East can be reached within 90 minutes.

The Cathedral City of Truro is 12 miles away, perfect for a day's shopping or a visit to the theatre. See what's on at The Hall For Cornwall.

The historic harbour of Charlestown is only 15 minutes away where you can usually see the fascinating old square sail ships. Both the harbour and ships are frequently used for filming many period dramas including the popular ‘Poldark’ series! An interesting attraction here is Shipwreck Charlestown. The popular fishing village of Mevagissey is also close by, as is Fowey on the beautiful Fowey estuary and a boat trip from one to the other makes a great day out.

Walkers and ramblers can enjoy spectacular scenery along the endless coastal footpaths and inland moorlands, and cyclists can hire bikes at Pentewan only 5 miles from us and cycle a variety of routes, see Pentewan Valley Cycle Hire or visit the Camel Trail, once an old railway line.

Gardening enthusiasts will find numerous Beautiful Gardens within very easy reach including The Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Pinetum Park, Trewithen Gardens, Trelissick Gardens and Lanhydrock. You can find out more about these wonderful gardens here.

Historians can marvel at the fascinating Historic Houses which surround us including Lanhydrock, Trerice, Prideaux Place and St Michaels Mount. Find out more about the magnificent Historic Houses in Cornwall here.

Of course, the weather cannot always be depended on, so if there should be a wet day, visit 101 Things to do on a rainy day in Cornwall.

To top off the perfect day, there are excellent pubs and restaurants close to us for Eating Out in the evening.

Take a look at this short film, to sample just a few of the wonderful places there are along the south coast, all within easy reach of our central location...
